BASIC CHARGES: 2010-2011 The on-campus student will need approximately $5,100.00 per semester. The following information is a general breakdown of the tuition, room, board, books, and fees. These figures are based on a full-time, on-campus student taking at least 16 hours of academic load. The breakdown of the average semester costs is as follows.

*All fees for the semester must be paid at registration along with at least one-fourth of the tuition, room and board. The balance may be paid in three, equal payments during the semester.

JOBS: A limited number of students are employed for college related work. Students desiring work should contact the administration office. Jobs are not hard to find in the bustling Hampton Roads area.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE:
Scholarship amounts awarded vary based on the availability of scholarship funds. In order to be eligible for any scholarship, a student must maintain a “C” average for each semester completed. Even though some students might receive more than one of the scholarships listed below, the total amount of accumulated in scholarship grants cannot exceed the amount of the student’s financial obligation for the semester.

Full-Time Christian Worker Scholarship: This $550 per semester scholarship is awarded to children of full-time Christian workers (pastor, associate pastor, evangelist, missionary, and Christian day school teacher who is head of household and whose primary income is from a church or in the service of churches). Available for the first four years of study, this scholarship is for a student who lives in the dormitory, takes at least 14 hours of academic load, and maintains a “C” average for the attempted semester.

Most Outstanding Student: This $500 per semester scholarship is available for the first two years for those undergraduate students officially named by their high schools as “Most Outstanding Student.”

Valedictorian: This $500 per semester scholarship is available for the first two years for those undergraduate students who were officially named by their high schools as “Valedictorian” at the year of his or her graduation. In order to receive this scholarship, the student must live in the dormitory, take at least 14 hours of academic load, and maintain a “C” average for the attempted semester. Also, the student must have had a minimum G.P.A. of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale in high school.

Salutatorian: This $250 per semester scholarship is available for the first two years for those undergraduate students who were officially named by their high schools as “Salutatorian” at the year of his or her graduation. In order to receive this scholarship, the student must live in the dormitory, take at least 14 hours of academic load, and maintain a “C” average for the attempted semester. Also, the student must have had a minimum G.P.A. of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale in high school.

Gateway Ministry Scholarship: This $500 per semester scholarship is awarded to children of full-time Gateway Ministry staff and full-time missionaries officially supported by Gateway Free Will Baptist Church. Also, this allowance is in addition to any other scholarships granted by GCC. It is available for the first four years of study. In order to receive this scholarship, the student must live in the dormitory, take at least 14 hours of academic load, and maintain a “C” average for the attempted semester.
